Read this first: turn Aisle off before you uninstall
Shopify removes Aisle's access the moment you uninstall, so after that it can no longer change your collections back.
Press Turn Aisle off at the bottom of the Collections page and wait for it to finish. It puts back any products Aisle hid, then sets every collection back to the sort order it had before. To stop just one collection, use Remove collection, which does the same for that collection.
Uninstall first and your collections stay on Manual sorting, in the order Aisle last left them, and anything Aisle hid stays hidden until you put it back by hand.
Nothing has sorted yet
Look at the label beside the collection on the Collections page.
Not sorting yet. The collection still uses one of Shopify's own sort orders. Shopify only lets products be reordered in a collection set to Manual sorting, so open the collection and press Switch to Manual. Aisle records the sort order the collection had first, so it can be put back later. Until you press it, Aisle changes nothing.
Off. Keep this collection sorted is switched off. Turn it on and press Save.
Paused by your plan. You have more collections than your plan covers. Nothing was deleted. Press Change plan, or remove a collection you no longer need.
Not sorted yet, with everything switched on. The schedule has not come round yet. On the free plan Aisle checks once a day. Press Run now to sort it straight away.
The order is not what I expected
Aisle sorts in two steps. First, sold-out products go to the bottom — or leave the collection, if you chose Hide sold-out products instead. Then everything still in stock is ordered by your choice under Then order the rest by. If that is set to Leave the order alone, in-stock products keep the order they already had.
Products with inventory tracking switched off are never treated as sold out. Gift cards, made-to-order and print-on-demand products stay where they are.
If nothing moved, the run says Already in order. Most checks change nothing.
Aisle checks on the schedule you set under Check, and never between checks. If something sold out five minutes ago, wait for the next check or press Run now.
A run failed
The reason is shown with the run.
- "This collection sorts by Best selling. Switch it to Manual so Aisle can reorder it." Press Switch to Manual.
- "This collection gets its products from another collection, so Aisle cannot hide products in it. Turn hiding off to sort it instead."
- "This collection is being sorted right now. Try again in a few minutes."
- "This collection is turned off." Turn Keep this collection sorted back on and press Save.
- "That did not work. Try again shortly." Press Run now once more.
Aisle sorts collections of up to 2,000 products. A larger one fails and says so, rather than half sorting it.

If a collection was already sorted manually before you added it, there is no earlier sort order to go back to. Products stay in the order Aisle left them, and you can drag them back yourself in Shopify.
